ABOUT
Welcome!
I'm a wife and mom to three great kids.
My passion for sewing led me to starting a slipcovering and custom sewing business in early 2014. I enjoy the little details in projects and the variety of styles I get to create for people. The transformation of a piece of furniture with a new slipcover always surprises me. I love making an old piece look new again!
I live in beautiful West Olive, Michigan.
Thanks for visiting!

CUSTOM SLIPCOVERS AND SEWING
SLIPCOVER PROCESS
I work out of my home in West Olive, MI. The surrounding areas of Grand Haven, Holland, Zeeland, and Spring Lake are local to me.
1. Contact me to get on my schedule and to figure out yardage.
If you have a picture and some overall dimensions of the furniture to send, that is very helpful in giving you an accurate estimate for labor costs and yardage, thank you!
2. Purchase your fabric and prewash it in 6-8 yard lengths--hot water and dry on high.
3. Contact me once you have your fabric so that I know you're ready.
4. Schedule a time with me to drop off your furniture or for an onsite fitting (couch). $25 fee for travel outside of my local area. Fittings take about 3 hours per item.
5. Turnaround time is around 3 weeks.
6. Schedule a time to pick up your furniture or a delivery time.

YARDAGE
These estimates will give you a general idea about how many yards you'll need to provide for your slipcover project. They're based on home decor fabric that's at least 54" wide. Printed fabrics and the type of skirt you'd like can affect the amount of yardage needed.
For loose back cushions, add 1.5-2 yards per cushion.
Couch 18+ yards
Love Seat 14+ yards
Chair 8-10 yards
Oversized Chair 12-14 yards
Ottoman 3-4 yards
Parson Chair 3-4 yards
Window Seat 3-4 yards
FABRIC
Best fabrics for slipcovers:
54" home decor weight cotton, denim, heavy weight linen, duck cloth, canvas, twill, matlesse. You'll want a fabric that drapes well and covers the upholstery underneath.
Please stay away from fabrics that are velvet, chenille, anything with a backing, heavy upholstery fabrics.
Please prewash your fabrics.
The yardage can be cut into 6-8 yard lengths. Use hot water and dry on high. Some fabrics say they can't be washed but you could try a sample and see how it comes out. After the slipcover is made, wash on cold.
If you are unsure about a fabric, please consider purchasing a yard of it and washing and drying it to see how it handles.
Drop cloths have become a popular choice. Here's the one I like from Chicago Canvas.
Places to look for fabrics:
Jo-Ann's and Hobby Lobby (use a coupon)
lots of solid canvas, twill, bull denim and linen. Get the 10-12oz weight in 54"-60"wide.
